Curative factors of Piešťany
Finest quality of Sulfur mud in Piešťany is one of the most effective in the world. The unique living ecosystem of sulphur mud forms in the dead arm of the Váh river due to the action of geothermal and biological effects. After being withdrawn from the river, the mud is stored in special pools where it matures for a year. The unique combination of mud and blue-green algae has a positive effect on joints, intervertebral cartilage and discs.

Mud wraps relieve muscle tension, reduce swelling around the joints, improve the nutrition of cartilage and connective tissues, strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation and enhance the function of motor skills and cartilage tissues.

The resort’s thermal mineral waters rise to the surface from a depth of 2000 meters and are moderately mineralised, medium thermal, weakly acidic, sulphate-hydrogen-carbonate, calcium-magnesium-sodium, sulphur, hypotonic with an increased content of fluorine and salicylic acid. One liter of mineral water contains approximately 1,300 mg/l of minerals and free gases.

An important indicator for the treatment of the musculoskeletal system is the high hydrocarbon content in 1 liter of water - 4.7 mg. The high content of sulfur present in the water in the form of sulphites, sulphates and sulphides has a positive effect on healing therapy. Thermal water is mainly used for drinking therapy or baths.
